In a heat exchanger using freon to cool CO2 the expanded copper tubes give way from the ends where the tube sheet is joined mainly when such an heat exchanger travels long distance. Please tell how to secure these joints as it is very difficult to use expanders every now and then. can we replace the copper tubes in heat exchanger with ss tubes?

SS is not compatible under freon due to interface corrosion halogenation. Ni 200 or hastealloy C22 are god choice. Copper has a trend to dezincification under freon atmosphere which can cause loss of mass leading to failure. regards
