If you specify the caustic strength in % and exact storage temperature i can give you the corrosion rate for Carbon steel material. However,it is to be noted that if dilution is more and expecting contamination from process side the rate of corrosion will be very high and you have to consider 6mm corrosion allowance.

hi guys, thanks for the reply. with regards to the strenght (in percentage) i've assumed 50% caustic strenght, but i have'nt compute for the storage temperature.(can u give me an outline how to compute for it , thanks). i would also like to ask something about our last conversations regarding the tank rubber lining, can u provide me a specification for this. i was also doing some reasearching and on the way i've read about "epoxy painting/coating protection" which can be used for steel tanks. can this be the same option as rubber linning? or which is much better? thanks!! regards, trevor08
