Dear All, We have a problem of corrosion under deposits in a Centrifugal pump. But when we are taking the thickness of suction and discharge piping , it is coming OK. How can we check the integrity of piping , means is there any NDT technique that can tell the presence of deposits in piping. The fluid is hydrocarbon. Best regards,

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jan-03-09 AT 06:32 AM (CDT)]Dear Mumtaz As far as I know the two most common ways to check the thickness of pipes are smart piging and guided wave which the latter is very common nowadays by which you can test the changes in the thickness of pipes and determine where it is located. For furthere info go to www.corrosionist.com and search the words "guided wave" Besides the name of body of water is Persian Gulf :)) Yours
