Alloy 617 is a solid-solution, strengthened, nickel-chromium-cobaltmolybdenum alloy with an exceptional combination of high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. Combination of 617with 800H is a specific application.Other than power plant,H2 steam reformers /ethylene pyrolisis furnace in refining/petrochemical industry occassionally use this combination to weld the catalyst tube with bottom pigtail connection.

Truly agree with Krish as we have also employed 617 as a welding material for welding of catalyst tubes with outlet pigtails in 800HT material for our Reformer at new Fertilizer Plant. Regards, Ashfaq - thepetrostreet.com
