Dear friends, Is there any advantage or disadvantage of usage of EH12K(High Managanese) electrodes over EM12K(Medium Manganese) electrodes for welding a 40mm thk. A516 Gr. 60 plate with a 45 mm. thk. A516 Gr. 60 plate for a Fin fan header? regards ravi.

Ravib: We are not welding experts, but Manganese adds strength as an alloying element. It can also help with material cleanliness. You might check the two electrode's minimum tensile and yield strengths. Hope this helps! David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
