Monel quill used between two carbon steel flanges in platformer effluent stream at about 150 deg. C. Is there any corrosion problem expected. The quill is basically a round plate with a hole at the center where a pipe is welded to the plate. This plate is the one between the two flanges. By the way, any good source for quill types and selection?

Ahmed: Monel exhibits generally excellent resistant to dilute caustic solutions up to 150C and appears to be a reasonable choice. We cannot comment on the resistance to the platformer effluent as you don't specify that environment. Hope this helps! David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
