"We intend to preserve a Swivel Joint made of Carbon Steel containing elastomeric components (seals/gaskets) from internal corrosion. The piece of equipment is lying in the shop at ambient temperature and pressure and to be re-used after one year. A wet protection procedure for filling the joint with fresh water with suitable corrosion inhibitor is considered to be a likely solution. However, any other solution is invited with approximate cost of protection."
You might consider a vapor phase inhibitor in combination with a sealed container. Another option would be to use a hydrocarbon based liquid or spray inhibitor. Just make certain that the inhibitors are compatible with the elastomers.
