"Reference Site for Standards/Standard Methods of Corrosion Product Analysis"

Question:

"I'm looking for some reference or a standards organization who published details on "standard analysis" of corrosion products (specifically related to the oil and gas industry). Such a group may not exist but I figure there's no harm in asking the question."

Answer:

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has several methods for testing the corrosive potential of materials or the corrosion resistance of materials in controlled environments. I would need more information before I could make a specific recommendation, however ASTM would be a good starting point.
