"wet vapor erosion-corrosion"

Question:

"I would like to know which type of morphology is produced by wet vapor erosion-corrosion. Is it like cones in the metal surface? and why? in which alloys is it produced?"

Answer:

You could describe erosion-corrosion as "cones" or preferably "teardrops". Copper and copper alloys are particularly susceptible to erosion-corrosion, although it can occur to carbon steel if velocities are high enough, especially if dissolved carbon dioxide is present.
