"what is DURIRON?"

Question:
"In a selection (in french)of materials resisting to sulphuric acid I find the word "duriron". This selection is supposed coming from "Chemical Engineering". Does somebody know what is "duriron"?"
Answer:
Duriron is a cast alloy with the following nominal composition:

Silicon ~14.2 wt. %
Carbon ~0.8 wt. %
Balance iron
It is used for its resistance to sulfuric acid environments.
