Is there a simple test that can be performed to differentiate type 304 from 316ss alloy?

Dear Sir: 316SS contains 2-3% molybdenum, while 304SS does not. There are several chemical spot test kits on the market which should be able to differentiate between 304SS and 316SS. Hope this helps! David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
