generally what is mean by wash down tank. the operating medium is water(corrosive allowance nil), is it always full or half full. the tori-head used is A234 and shell with A106 GR.B i can't found it applications. can anyone guide me base on the materials used. p/s:i dunno where should i post the questions.

it's used in offshore drilling, oilrig. is it just washing away the water that coming from nozzle inlet? or it store water for a period, or wash the containminant? i have search in the google but can't get the real idea the tank for...
