Im joining 316 stainless tubing to hole in 316 plate. Hole clearance around tubing is .0020 to .0035 inches. Brazing is chrome nickel alloy with brazing temp of 2175 F in vacuum furnace. tube is ground off flush with plate surface so that smooth, seamless surface is left. Trouble is that after grinding surface, small voids or cracks are seen in joint. Have tried numerous things like pre-firing parts, passivating parts - but problem persists. What could be cause of these voids or cracks in joint material?
