Dear Rumour, There are some references which says that Titanium will be corroded by 10% of NaOH at the service temperature of around 100 Deg C. Once during the chemical cleaning of titanium exchanger, we adopted the precaution of lower NaOH concentration and low temperature rinsing. Regards, Shabbar Corrosion Engineer

Rumour Unalloyed Titanium has good resistance for NaOH from 10-40 % concentration from 35 - 85 deg centigrade ( < 2 mils per year) At higher temperature - 100-200 deg centigrade unalloyed Ti will not have good resistance for the same concentration of 10-40%.
