I am trying to decide how much difference there might be between 18/10 surgical stainless steel cookware and 316L stainless steel cookware. 316L possibly does not transfer any flavor of the metal when water is boiled in it while the 304 (18/10) will? All I can find about the differences is that 316L resists crevice corrosion better than 304. How important is that in cookware? Price difference of $1500 (18/10) vs. $7000 (316L). Any ideas or information would be appreciated. Thank you. Carl Nulsen 214-497-5545

Carl Nulsen There are always exception, however, the difference between 316SS and 304SS for cookware applications is probably not critical. 316SS has better resistance primarily to aqueous media containing chlorides. We cannot comment on any FDA, or other food related governmental restrictions. David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
