Hi all, I am a student studing Civil Engineering and im currently looking for info on the follow topic: Fire protection for structural steel works. If anyone has any information on what materials could be used to protect steel structures from fire or know of any websites with information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, James

James Kelly.....a fine Irish name, Jim, I suggest that you re-post your question on on www.eng-tips.com in the Structural Engineering Forum and also perform a GOOGLE search on "fire protection" and "steel" An excellent source of information are the vendors of the coatings themselves. try www.ameroncoatings.com You should also know that there are standard tests defined by ASTM for fireproof coatings ....See www.astm.org Hope that this gets you started !!
