My company manufactures Swing Joints, a piping component primarily used in petroluem storage tanks. We have a prospective customer wanting one of our 12" models configured for potable water service. Since we manufacture products to the Petroluem Industry, we don't have a $555 copy of NSF61 on hand. My question is does anyone know if ASTM A439 Type D2 Ni-Resist Austenitic Ductile Iron would be prohibited for potable water service and/or by NSF61? This material has a max. limit of 22% Ni, 2.75% Cr, and elements such as Lead, Cadmium, Copper, and Zinc do not appear to be "controlled" as there are no maximums stated in ASTM A439 for these elements. Thanks for your help on this.
