Nakamura & Japan Society of Chemical Engineers has done some work to establish certain correlation between Cl-, Operating Temp., pH and Service hours for different initiation of damage mechanism ( like SCC, Stains, Pits , no damage) for SS 304 in NaCl soln. simulation. I am badly searching for some more practical database figures which correlates(threshold) Residual Stress, Temp, Cl-, pH for different SS ( 304, 316, 321, 347)to initiate different damage aspects like pitting, IGSCC, TGSCC, etc. if anybody have some experimental figures etc. please share . regards Debasis Mitra Sr. Engr.(Inspection Services); Certified Corrosion Inspector B.E.( Metallurgy ) ; ASNT NDT Level III (RT,UT,MT) HALDIA PETROCHEMICALS LIMITED ; HALDIA PLANT ; WEST BENGAL ; INDIA

Debasis Mitra You will get enough information from: 1. Handbook of Stainless Steel - Chapter 1 to 14 - Donald Peckner & I.M.Bernstein - Mc Graw Hill Publication 2. S.C.C & Hydrogen Embrittlement - Edited by R.W. Staehle 1979 3. ARPA Hand book - Stress Corrosion Cracking Volutme 1 Edited by Markus O Spiedel - 1980 Volume 1 of Mark Spiedel book deals with Stainless Steel Volume 2 of Mark Spiedel book deals with Nickel Alloys ARPA is an excellent book for the points referred on Threshold limits of Cl-, Temp, Pr, pH for S.S. Volume 1 deals with S.S alloys NaCE seninar on S.C.C. is a classic publication ofn SCC behavior of various metals and alloys from IGSCC and TGSCC information on S.S alloys. Also look at or refer ASTM STP 532 or so - 2000 which also c vers S.C.C edited by R.W.Kane. ASTM STP deals with your que;stion Trust this is helpful and will answer your query C.V.Srinivasan Nishi Engieers Pvt Ltd Chenani 20 india Oct 21 E-mail: nishi@vsnl.com/nishi@hathway.com >Nakamura & Japan Society of Chemical Engineers has done some >work to establish certain correlation between Cl-, Operating >Temp., pH and Service hours for different initiation of >damage mechanism ( like SCC, Stains, Pits , no damage) for >SS 304 in NaCl soln. simulation.
