Reboiler (a)Operates at nominally 200 °C and up to 85kPag (b)Liquid phase - 98.8%w/w TEG, 1.2%w/w H2O (c)Vapour phase normally dry ( as dew point is 172°C, and composition is 23.3%w/w H2O, 27%w/w CO2 (partial p=31.4kPa a), 13.2%w/w TEG, Balance HCs(Hydrocarbons) (d)If this vapour (in (c) above) is cooled to 172°C (by contact with a cold metal surface eg the vessel roof), then gas will start to condense and the condensate composition is 98.6%w/wTEG, 1.3%w/w H20 and 0.04% w/w CO2. Note the condensate formed is a miscible mixture of TEG and water so there is no free liquid water in contact with the CO2. Please confirm the corrosion rate mm/year for CS vessel and the prefered material for reboiler. Please respond at Vee_63@yahoo.com thanks Vijay

Vijay For TEG - 10-100% concentration - from 20-130 deg centigrade - C.S is OK ( <2 mils per year). Water 1.2% may give problems of rust the steel at the unexposed portions of the reboiler. Please check if iron rust contaminanation at unexposed portions of reboiler is allowed in the process. Trust this is of help to you C.V.Srinivasan Nishi Engineers Pvt Ltd India Nov 25,2005 E-mail:nishi@vsnl.com >Reboiler > >(a)Operates at nominally 200 °C and up to 85kPag > >(b)Liquid phase - 98.8%w/w TEG, 1.2%w/w H2O >(c)Vapour phase normally dry ( as dew point is 172°C, and >composition is 23.3%w/w H2O, 27%w/w CO2 >(partial p=31.4kPa a), 13.2%w/w TEG, Balance >HCs(Hydrocarbons) > >(d)If this vapour (in (c) above) is cooled to 172°C (by >contact with a cold metal surface eg the vessel roof), then >gas will start to condense and the condensate composition is >98.6%w/wTEG, 1.3%w/w H20 and 0.04% w/w CO2.
