One of the coating vendor suggested for Aliphatic Polyurethane as a top coat in marine steel structures.What is the differnce between the aliphatic and acrylic polyurethane.Whis is the best system for such high humid atmosphere?Which is the best primer out of the following for the same application? 1)Inorganic zinc silicate 3)Epoxy polyamide zinc rich primer 2)Zinc phosphate regards,

Aliphatic PU is often given as an exterier Top Coat in order to give a stable UV protection and also it is having low WVTR. Nowadays moisture cured PU is also available. I am unaware about acrylic PU but there exist aromatic PU which is usually applied as interior for chemical resiatance. If you are doing SA 2 1/2 Blast Cleaning it is best to apply IZS for structures. regards DM
