We have experienced failure of 20mm OD, 2mm thk 70-30 Cu-Ni tube(UNS SB111C71500) used in salt water service-tube side. Severe internal pitting of irregular shape at isolated locations has been experienced at few locations. No significant end erosions are observed. This bundle has been retubed 2 months back. The flow velocity is 1.2m/s and the H2S content is minimal(<2ppm) What are the possible causes? Pl revert urgently.
