Polymeric Piping ( HDPE, PP etc.) found to be inert to many hydrocarbon liquids. But due to sagging factors, UV incompatibility their above ground use is discouraged. Is there any Industrial use in principle substituting Steel Piping ? Pl. share/ comment. regards

Due to safety related problem polymeric pipings are not used inside the process plant handling hydrocarbon and explosive chemicals.However,for underground application these lines can be used with proper supporting arrangement.Worldwide now steel underground lines are being replaced with polymeric piping due to less installation time and maintenance.Polymeric piping are extensively used in DM Water plant handing acid,alkalies etc.(highly corrosive areas). regards,
