Pl. share your views and practical experience with maximum chloride ( ppm) tolerance ( w.r.t. pitting and crevice corrosion ) of SS 316L at 50C and near neutral pH ( 7.5). Pl. also focus the condition under intermittent stagnant and dynamic flow conditions.

At 50Deg.C SCC cannot be expected .However,at stagnant condition at this tempearture one can expect pitting type of corrosion depends upon what type of fluid you are handling since the pH is in neutral range and likely to go below 7.5 at stagnant condition. If stagnant condition is expected all times then conventional ASS (like 304,316)will not be suitable material due to less PREN compared to DSS/SDSS.
