Hi Dear we have some H_Exchenger in NACE MR0175 condition. Tube is S.S. 316L & Tube Sheet is C.S.(A-105). Tubes double expanded & seal weld to tube sheet. electrode is E-309 & W.P.S. is %60nt content PWHT. but impacted & 200 brinel is it%60t hardness. in start up seal weld is cracked & leak from them. Please explain me What is the matter?is PWHT mandatory?

MicroENG: Thanks for your post. However, from your limited description, we cannot comment on why the seal welds cracked. It may or may not have anything to do with sulfide SSC. Other potential cracking mechanisms may include contaminated welds or excessive thermal expansion of the tubes. 309 weld metal should not experience sulfide SSC.
