Dear friends, Neutron back scatter is the best method available for your problem. That is a easy to use portable instrument and it need to be moved along the Tank OD. You can use gamma ray scanning if the Tank diameter is small. GRS we use mostly for Column and Vessels regards, Mahinda

Hi Krish, Mahinda's response in #5 is correct, however there are limitations to applying the neutron backscatter technology for sludge level measurements in storage tanks.
