Apparently, some of our cement line CS piping are also leaking. The GRE piping seems attractive. Do you use intumescent coating to protect the GRE from fire? Thanks,

Dear Alani, What kind of leak it is ? Is it from the weld or from the parent metal. if it is from weld, then you can think of replacing the piping with EFSW or SAW pipes. Siva

If you use carbon steel pipeline without any control on deposits there is every possibilility that leaks can occurs frequently due to MIC(Microbiologically Induced Corrosion)even if you use seam less pipe.The best way is to control the deposit at the upstream side by providing suitable strainers and adding dispersant chemicals.GRP is the best choice for underground application(headers)and road crossing provided the flexibility analysis should meet the pump shut off pressure and surges.However,GRP cannot be used for above ground within the plant due to fire hazard as well as UV Degradation. Considering the safety as well as cost either internally expoxy coated or cement lined carbon steel with good sealing coat on joint location (after welding) will last long without any maintenance problems.
