Dear Sir's, I have a equipment in alloy steel (9% Ni) to use in cryogenic temperatures. Can I hydrotest the equipment with seawater without any corrosion problems? Note: Weld Filler material it's a Ni alloy steel. Many thanks in advance. Luis

Dear Luis, The purpose of using 9% Ni steel is enhanced low temperature impact toughness. But I believe this catagory of steel does not have much ability to resist sea water corrosion and susceptible to form pittings if left over. Thus I will recommend not to use sea water with usual high chlorides if at all possible . otherwise >Dear Sir's, regards
