Hi! I have butterfly valve's shaft made of 316. This is a flow control valve. It handles brine with Cl approx. 1000 ppm. If I change the material to 17-4 to increase the strength. How about the corrosion resistance of 17-4 PH to 1000ppm Cl ? Is it better than 316? Thanks !

For additional info, the brine's temperature is about 350F. Regards, CITa

I would expect it not to be quite as good, but have no data on this severe situation. You should contact Ralph Davison.
