My question is what would be a better choice to use in constructing an Arch that will be exposed to PH levels of 1-2 at a 4% concentration. I have seen technical papers that claim that Aluminum is a better choice due to hydrogen embrittlement in SS. I am debating between Aluminum 6061-T6 and S.S. 316. This Arch is to have a life-span of 30 years without failure. I was advised to seek an accelerated corrosion test, but I am a student running a research project that can't afford it. If anyone can shed some knowldege on this matter I would highly appreciate it. Thank you, Gabriel Aguilar
