Hi! Can Anyone help me with a surface coating that will improve corrosion resistance of 304? I would rather not use 316 due to cost & machinability.

Bill: Even 316SS is not a panacea alloy for seawater service. We don't recommend coatings for 304SS in seawater service as if the coating isn't applied properly and of an adequate thickness and coverge, corrosion can be more severe than without a coating.
