We are having frequent line leakage problems in our vacuum salt manuacturing plant. Maximum leakages are in condensate lines. At present for condensate we are using MS Heavy Black as per IS: 1239(1990). We have different temperature of condensate with the maximun being 298 F( 65 psig) and minimum being 98 F. I sent a sample of condensate to lab for testing and the results are as follows. Ca = 0.60 ppm Mg =1.97 ppm So4 =5.76 ppm Cl =13.47 ppm Dissolved CO2 = Nil pH =8.2 Temperature of sample was around 180F. Can I get the acceptable limit of Chloride for MS Black pipes. Can you please suggest the material suitable for our condensate lines?
