I live in a condo building that is 3 years old. The sprinkler piping is black pipe (ASTM A 53). I have noticed that the sprinkler piping headers in the underground garage are extremely corroded on the exterior. However, the branch piping off of the headers, after the Vitaulic coupling, is not corroded. The developer says that it is a normal occurance and that he will not do anything about it. Why would this piping (only the headers) be heavily corroded after three years?

It appears that ur branch pipe is galvanised and main header is not galvanised (black) . Pl. also check. >I live in a condo building that is 3 years old. Sorry, I forgot to mention previously that the branch piping is also black steel.
