Titanium is known to be highly corrosion resistant in oxidizing solutions. Is it highly corrosion resistant in non-oxidizing solutions as well ?

Ti will not be corrosion resistant in non oxidizing solution since no corrosion protective layer is formed after reaction. regards,

There is a possibility that Pd-stabilized grades will resist reducing solutions depending on temperature and solution chemistry. These Pd-stabilized grades are: 7,11,16, and 17 containing .15 or .05 Pd.

Astroavia Ti with Pd addition will certainly resist under reducing acid solutions - from crevice, SCC and improved C.R. Due to availability of Pd, Ti-0.1% Ru has been developed as alternate for such reducing acid solutions from crevice, SCC and improved C.R Ti-Pd Grade 11 and Grade 17 are used successfully for reducing acid solutions. We have successfully used > 30 years Ti-Pd in de-min plant waste recovery system with both dilute HCL and H2SO4 acid solutions remain. Ti-Pd pump parts have withstood these reducing acid solutions without problem. Hope this helps C.V.Srinivasan Nishi Engineers Pvt Ltd India June 11, 2008 E-mail: nishi@vsnl.com >There is a possibility that Pd-stabilized grades will resist >reducing solutions depending on temperature and solution >chemistry.
