I need advice on selecting a material that will not experience corrosion from sulfuric acid. All concentrations with working temperatures of -100 to 200 degrees F will be experienced. If velocity of the fluid is an issue, assume 300 mm/s. Thanks! Shawn

Concentration and temperature are really important factors when selecting material suitable for sulfuric acid service. If you could be more specific regarding the concentration and narrow down the operating temperature someone may advise. Velocity is also an important factor however 300 mm/s would be considered low velocity and wouldn’t be much of a concern.

AS per your statement :- Conc. of H2SO4 = All Temp. = 100F - 200F i.e. 37C- 74C Velocity = 300 mm / sec i.e. 1 ft/sec Now pl. note the following response :- Your T & V is insignifiacnt here But Conc. = All matters much for MOC selection. (1) For ALL Level of Conc. @ your specified T & V you have to select a siuperior metallurgy like Alloy 625 or you have to cover low grade MOC by PTFE compact lining. (2) Now if your Acid Conc. is within 80%-98% here you can simply use Plain C.S. reegards DM
