hi i have some question about a240 gr 31803 is it a special alloy? weld ability? other specification. is it expensive? tankx.

Dear , This is a Duplex SS. It is bit expensive compared to conventional alloy SS. It is weldable. Other spec. is Grade 32001. Hope it help. regards DM

Yes it is duplex (Austinitic+Ferritic) alloy, normaaly used in highly corrossive environ ment like offshore oil&gas facility good weldability with controlled heatinput and interpass temperatures. and costly too since sine it has 22Cr 5Ni 3Mo in combination and been manufactured by few mills like Avesta or Sandvik etc..
