Hi all, I am a new member. Can anybody help me in analyzing the A560 Cast steel Structure. OR provide any reference microstructures, or internet resources on this topic. Thanking you Krishna

ASTM A 560 is the Standard Specification for Castings, Chromium-Nickel Alloy. This specification covers chromium-nickel alloy castings intended for heat-resistant and elevated-temperature corrosion applications ( like resistance to Fuel Ash Corrosion, carburisation, Oxidation etc. ) such as structural members, containers, supports, hangers, spacers, and the like in corrosive environments up to 2000F (1090C) having good creep strength. There are three like compositions. One is called "50Cr-50Ni", another is called "60Cr-40Ni" and the last is called "50Cr-50Ni-Nb . In principle the microstructure is Pure Austenitic with coarse grain but presence of intermetallic precipitates like NbC is there. U may refer AWS discussion threads for more discussions. regards
