I have two kinds of stainless steel mixed up, with and without molibden. Can anyone advice about an affordable - probably chemical - method for detecting the presence of Molibden from the cut stainless steel? Thanks.

Mo is a ferrite former. It's used to increase the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, but the structure will tend to tranform into BCC. To detect its presence, maybe EDS/WDS is a good characterization method, after the specimen is properly treated.
