Environment: high pressure (110 to 160 bar, 1600 to 2300 psi) natural brines, sedimentary pore water. Temperatures approaching boiling point of the brine at that pressure (318 C to 347 C). Some methane entrained in the brine. Do not anticipate much CO2 or H2S. Do not anticipate O2 entrained. I can't find any material data about corrosion resistance of metals to NaCl solutions at high tempertures and pressures. They seem to cut off at about 200 C, maybe 250 C. Can anybody give me some direction? I guess oilfield production tubulars will go to 140 C in CO2 and H2S brines with just low-alloy or high-Cr steel? Extrapolating to my conditions, what class of materials do I need to examine? Stainless? Inconels? Titanium? Pure chrome? Ceramics/ceramic coated? Flame-sprayed Al? Or hopeless?
