Hello all, I have a project to figure out the 'leak rate' of H2 through a small steel capsule. Pressurized to 30 psi pure H2 wall thickness, 050" Temperature range -55 -> +175C What I am wondering, is if there is any published data or personal experiences with this or similar situations. Or maybe even a formula. Thank you

Paulo Hydrogen leak rate : For the pressure 30 PSI and temp 175 deg cent for wall thickness 1.27 mm , hydrogen permeation rate for 1018 steel rate will be slow. NASA Technical report may give some furthr information for this material. I do not remember (off hand) the NASA technical report number. Trust this helps you C.V.Srinivasan Nishi Engineers Pvt Ltd India April 14, 2007 E-mail: nihsi@vsnl.com >Hello all, > >I have a project to figure out the 'leak rate' of H2 through >a small steel capsule. > >Pressurized to 30 psi pure H2 > >wall thickness, 050" > >Temperature range -55 -> +175C > >What I am wondering, is if there is any published data or >personal experiences with this or similar situations.
