Dear sir I work in a foundry and i produce tube suports for atmosferic furnace in 50 Cr 50 Ni with columbium. I have problem when i weld this material or remove the fedders, some cracks is detected. I would like what is the better proces to welding this material Regards Aguinaldo Gonsalez

Dear Sir: It is not possible to identify the cause of your cracking problem without knowing details of the weld procedure, conditions of welding and where the cracks are occurring. However, with nickel-based alloys, you should consider hot cracking from sulfur contamination and restraint cracking. Hope this helps! David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
