In Oil & Gas Sector as per NACE MR 0175 restricts Ni to 1% max. for Carbon & Alloy Steel Base Metal and their corresponding Filler Metals also. It has been established by NACE that Ni content above 1% increases the risk & susceptibility of SSC even at hardness level below 22 HRc. In Refinery Sector MR 0103 does not have 1% Ni restriction. On the other hand due to increased impact toughness performance at low temperature 3 1/2% Ni Steel are used for sour service for many years. How to explain this issue w.r.t. MR 0103? Pl. share your expert comment.
