Moisture cured high solid elastomeric PU overcomes the deficiencies of Surface tolerant 2K Epoxy mastic coatings. MCPU has one unique performance that it cures in presence of moisture both from environment and from substrate. MCPU is 1K and hence no confusions in mixing ratios. The basic advantages of MCPU are as follows : (1) Application made easy - no sophisticated equipment is required , by brushing (2) Adhesion to visibly damp surface is excellent and risk of water entrapment Blistering is negligible (3) Excellent hardness linked with Toughness and Flexibility( Ductility) as Lima mentioned (4) Excellent Surface tolerance and needs minimal surface preparation - ST2 ( 5) No Amine blushing problem as there with amine cured Epoxy Mastic Paints ( 6) The only demerit with this paint is that it demands minimum humidity of 30% - 40% for satisfactory drying. (7) Some typical application of MCPU is Cooling Tower ares, Coastal Areas and Cold Areas. (8) Not aware about the cost aspect , may be high side but to ascertain Benefit / Cost ratio is v. high. Temperature max. can be 80C. But prefered to apply RIGID ( not Elastomeic) Aromatic group MDI Isocyanate high Solid PU. But pl. consult some god paint manufacturer.
