We have a typical problem. We have been facing problems of corrosion of above ground storage tank bottoms in a series. The tanks in discussion store Residual Crude Oil at about 100 Deg C. The top side of the bottom plate are almost smooth. We have observed pits on the bottom side (soil side ). What could be the reasons? Please note that the above problem is a recent phenomenon.
