I have a battery tie down that utilizes a buckle made from 304SS and it passes between the filler caps. Several of these buckles have corrosion growing on them but when I scrape the corrosion off, it does not appear to be consuming the base metal (the 304SS). If it is just supporting the growth of corrosion, is there a way to inhibit or protect against this? Or, is this just the wrong material for this application?

Pat: Do you know that it is corrosion or just a sulfate deposit? If 304SS was corroding you should be able to observe it. Perhaps you want to include a photo of the buckles. David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.

Dave, I am not having much luck attaching the photo I have or even getting a reply back to you via email. Can you direct me to instructions for working your system here or do you just want to email me directly at lane@agmcontainer.com? Thanks. Pat Lane

"How do I post images?" You can just include the imageurl ( i.e. http://www.somedomain.com/Images/cool.gif) in your message. Or you can also upload an image(this option has to be enabled by the administrator) by clicking on Click here to choose your file on the post form. This will launch a remote window through which you can specify the file extension and browse your disk to select the file you wish to upload. Once the file is selected, the attachment textbox will automatically be populated with the name of your uploaded file. All files are randonmly renamed. Keep in mind that there is a size limitation to file upload. David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
