Rust
We manufacture a truck wash system here in Indy and we have been running into some problems lately with rust on 304 SS, I am wondering why and should a maqgnet adhere to 304 SS 2x2 tubes 1/8" thick. We seem to be having this problem more and more and trying to get a handle on it. The SS arrives to us from a third vendor who gets the SS from Tiawan. Thank you

Warren: 304SS will "rust" if corroded by, for instance, road salts on paving. 304SS will also rust if iron has become embedded into the material during fabrication or manufacture. 304SS may be slightly magnetic, but should not be strongly so. Cast forms of 304SS will be more magnetic than their wrought counterparts. Hope this helps! David Hendrix The Hendrix Group Inc.
